During one of my studio classes, we had an alum drop by. He just happened to be on a layover for his flight somewhere and came by on whim. Cool thing; he actually had shit going for him. He was one of the many art directors/set builders for ParaNorman. Worked for Sony Studios, Disney, Cartoon Network. Good friends with Ben Barenholtz, producer for "Eraserhead". Better friends with Stephan Chiodo, as in the Chiodo brothers, as in the "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" director. But MOST importantly, he is a fan of Twin Peaks. Weee! I got rejected a few months ago when applying for the Illustration program. So I planned to study Visual Studies which covers new media, fuses sociology with art and civic duty to the artist. However, a spot opened up and I was actually next on the list to get in based on portfolio review scores. Sadly, I'm amused by the fact I was so close to getting in. But hey-o! Look at me now. It feels nice that after 2.5 years, I finally am on the right track. So much to learn! -Tabuu

After passing a rigorous review, I now can move into the program of my choice. I feel like a kid trying to pick out a candy bar. There's still some unperceived part of the world that I can embark on, there's that last sense of mysticism. I like this feeling but I know it's one of the last I'll get. It's tough going to art school. Everyone (ie Professors) tells you what you're doing is pointless in the grand scheme of things, and it's true. You don't really gain an education until you're out in the "real world" and outside the confines of a school. Alas, in the meanwhile, before I have to become comfortable with just existing, I'm going to en
